Hi, I’m Julie, thank you for taking the time to visit my site!

So, here’s a little bit about me and how I came to help people get moving again, through sports massage therapy, wellbeing massage and facials to relax and unwind.
Back in the day
When I left school (back in the day…the late 80’s…ouch) my only aspirations were to travel. Knuckling down to full time work as soon as I was out of school, I was lucky enough to save and fund an amazing backpacking experience which lasted a couple of years.
This took me across Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. I had the most crazy, exciting, risky adventures. One of the most important things I gained from travelling was a realisation of what is truly important in life. The memories will stay with me forever.
But then, suddenly, its all over & reality hits hard!!
I’m back on UK soil, and it was time to get a “proper” job!
The proper job… or was it?
I secured a role in financial services. Just 3 years into the job, the travel bug was hard to resist, so I took a 3 month sabbatical and travelled to Peru, South America. I decided I wanted to try my hand at volunteering for the 1st month. Simple enough! a bit of unpaid work in a foreign country, how hard can it be. First attempt was a health centre but I was fainting more than the patients, secondly in a soup kitchen, peeling kilos of potatoes, although found myself back at the health centre, with a badly cut hand! Thirdly, helping out in a nursery, but the kids seemed to think biting me was fun! Eventually I found my feet and ended up in the Peruvian Prison! Wow, what an experience. It seemed being locked up with the inmates was the safest place to be! Soon my time volunteering came to an end and I enjoyed the following 2 months travelling across the most spectacular Peru and Bolivia.
It was difficult, though I had to return to the UK once again and landed up doing another 15 years in the financial industry.
I’d always known finance wasn’t really where I wanted to be, so having always been very interested in not only travel but also health and fitness, I finally jumped out of my comfort zone and decided to put my passion into practice.
My new career in wellness
Qualifying in Level 3 Sports massage therapy in 2019, then progressing to Level 4 Sport massage therapy in 2020, I have never looked back.
I like to take a proactive approach to my career development by keeping up to date with CPD (Continuous Professional Development). This allows me to stay current in latest research and evidence based practices, in an ever evolving industry.
Massage support on a cycle challenge
The stevebernardfoundation.com run a cycle challenge every so often and I was given the opportunity to combine my love for travel and my role as a therapist on the “It’s too Faro” challenge in October 2023. How amazing and what an incredible experience it was!!
Being 1 of a team of 3 therapists we supported 16 cyclists who cycled and incredible 1000miles in 10 days. They started in Bilbao, Northern Spain, completing the ride in Faro, Portugal. What a challenge this was for the cyclists, battling against horrendous weather conditions and extremely tough terrain. Plenty of blood, sweat and tears went into that, and most importantly a load of laughs! They made it!
It was an absolute honour to be a part of the team, supporting them every step of the way, keeping them in optimal condition for the duration of the charity challenge.
